As I take a moment to reflect on this Memorial Day, I take notice of the changing seasons and how there is a lesson there for every organization, church, ministry, and business. Whether your organization is struggling to succeed or in the midst of sustained upward growth, there are still seasons, changes, and challenges to work through.
To Everything There Is a Season
Living in Pennsylvania, we are fortunate to experience all four of God’s seasons. As I sit at my desk, I have a view of a wooded area through my office window.
Today, the trees are in full bloom. But just a couple of months ago, the trees were completely bare.
Five months from now, the green leaves will again be transformed into an amazing palette of oranges, reds, and yellows.
As I consider just how different the seasons are, I realize that the work we do here at Infinity Concepts gives me a great view of the world of ministry – and the variety of seasons experienced by organizations of every shape and size.
When clients prayerfully choose to partner with us, many of them are going through some tough times, and it seems that it’s a season of emptiness with its own set of unique problems. Other clients, though, are beginning ministries from scratch – or perhaps in their early stages – and need some direction, and some are in their “autumn” – a season of transition – not knowing exactly what’s going to happen and wondering what direction they are headed. Finally, we have clients who are flourishing and feeling locked into the call of God on their lives. But even then, the challenges of ministry beg for strategic insights and answers to keep making an impact for God’s kingdom.
Thankfulness and Vision
Across the board – in media, fundraising, marketing, strategic planning, church leadership, and organizational development – our team has helped ministries creatively conceive and implement strategic solutions to the problems they were facing. Sitting here at my window today and looking back, I can’t tell you how honored and privileged we all feel to have the opportunity to personally get to know and partner with so many incredible organizations striving to be all that God wants them to be.
And that’s really the key, isn’t it? Whether it’s at home or in ministry, we must keep the Lord the focus of everything we do – and remember that God is still God through every season we face in our lives. No matter how the world looks through the window you might be sitting at today, remember that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Seasons are sometimes hard to endure because we long for a more comfortable one, but this is a good reminder that it is only a season.
