Integrating LinkedIn Into Your Lead Generation Funnel

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of LinkedIn?

For many, LinkedIn is the go-to-site when you seek employment. It is classified as a professional social network where one can build professional connections, participate in industry discussions, and more.

However, this social platform has far more value than solely for professional networking and job seekers. LinkedIn can grow your business too!

LinkedIn is very different from its social media competitors — like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. These platforms can easily reach a target market because of their direct access. More importantly, consumers on these platforms are already pre-conditioned to be solicited through some form of advertising.

Since blatant selling is traditionally frowned upon among LinkedIn users, marketing your organization on this platform requires a different approach. Here are some ways you can use LinkedIn to grow your organization:

Be Present —

Your organization’s LinkedIn page is an extension of your brand. It should be robust and engaging from first encounter. Be sure to invite your staff, donors, clients, and/or customers to follow your company. Testimonials are still among the strongest forms of advertising. Encourage donors, clients, and customers to recommend your products and services to build page credibility.

Be a Thought Leader —

Launch a group based on the brand category in which you operate. In these groups, place yourself and your organization in the role of subject matter expert. Encourage community within your group through compelling discussions and engaging questions. Always provide value with creative content. Invite key influencers in your brand category to serve as a champion of your group and inspire others to join it.

Be Collaborative —

For an organization’s LinkedIn marketing strategy to be effective, you need all hands on deck. Your staff helps create an extended network to amplify the company presence.  Every staff member should have an active LinkedIn profile that shares interesting content from your organization to expand reach through their respective networks.

LinkedIn can be an effective platform to grow your organization by attracting donors or customers in a nonintrusive way. Marketing through this platform places your organization in a position of trust and leadership.
