dna workshop
OVERVIEW
A DNA Workshop is a dynamic two-session process designed to focus vision and define strategy for the future growth of an organization. During this workshop, we will discover God’s assignment for your organization and develop an effective plan to fulfill that assignment. The first 7-hour session is deeply rooted in discovery and navigation and allows us to establish the baseline and define the journey to change and growth.
The second 4-hour session includes our recommendations and specific action steps. The sessions are usually scheduled 3-4 weeks apart to allow our staff time to strategize and conduct additional research.
THE DNA DISTINCTIVE
A DNA Workshop focuses on three key purposes:
DISCOVERY
Probe the heart of the leader
Research the key factors for success
Understand the competitive landscape
NAVIGATION
Plan the course for the future
Outline steps to prepare for the journey
Protect the important values and vision
ACTION
Develop an implementation plan
Define metrics to measure the results
Create Analysis-Adjustment plan
BACKGROUND
First, a DNA Workshop is guided by four key principles. These principles will govern our process throughout the day and into the future:
• Honor the heart of the leader.
• Unleash the best efforts of exceptional people.
• Be shaped by sound unchanging principles.
• Benefit from proven organizational practices.
Secondly, a DNA Workshop is designed to accomplish the following objectives:
• Develop a “brand” definition for the organization.
• Define the baseline of core values and principles by which the organization will operate.
• Surface problems that may exist in the organization.
• Develop a framework to implement change and growth.
• Focus and prioritize organizational objectives.
• Create specific steps of action to accomplish goals.
PREPARATION
• Everyone should come to the workshop with an open mind and a sense of expectation.
• All participants should come prepared to discuss key organizational objectives.
• Everyone must be in attendance from the beginning of the day and stay for the entire process.
• All decision makers and key leaders should be included in the session. If there is uncertainty as to whether or not someone should attend, it is usually better to include him or her in the process.
